QR code generator
Turn a link or text into a QR code you can download as SVG or PNG. No tracking, no sign-up, no expiry.
Using QR codes well
A QR code is just a way of encoding text that a camera can read. It can hold a web address, Wi-Fi details, contact cards or plain text. Test the code with a phone before printing, keep a quiet border around it, and leave it large enough to scan at the distance people will stand.
This generator runs entirely in your browser. Your text is never sent anywhere, and because the code is static it never depends on our site staying online.
Frequently asked questions
Is the QR code tracked or does it expire?
No. The code simply encodes your text or URL. There is no redirect, no tracking and no expiry, so it works forever.
What is error correction?
QR codes carry redundancy so they still scan when partly damaged or covered by a logo. Higher levels (Q, H) survive more damage but produce a denser code.
Which colors scan reliably?
Dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Inverted (light on dark) codes fail on many scanners.
SVG or PNG?
SVG is vector and prints sharply at any size. PNG is convenient for slides and chat apps.
