What to know about Google Cloud Scheduler cron
- Fields are minute, hour, day-of-month, month and day-of-week. Weekdays are 0-6 or SUN-SAT, and 7 is also accepted as Sunday.
- When both day-of-month and day-of-week are set, the job runs when either matches (an inclusive OR). Setting day 1 and SAT runs on the first of the month and every Saturday.
- Choose the time zone with
--time-zoneor in the console; it must be a tz database name and defaults to UTC. - Cloud Scheduler runs on wall-clock time, so daylight saving changes can make jobs run or not run unexpectedly. Google recommends UTC to avoid this.

Frequently asked questions
Does Cloud Scheduler support seconds?
No. The format has five fields, so the shortest interval is one minute.
How do I set the time zone?
Use --time-zone="America/New_York" with gcloud scheduler jobs create, or pick it in the console. The default is UTC.
Why did my job run on the first AND every Saturday?
Because Cloud Scheduler ORs the two day fields when both are restricted. Keep one of them as *.
