Cron & scheduling

Cron looks simple until two systems disagree about it: Quartz numbers Sunday as 1, Spring does not, Kubernetes follows the controller time zone, and a daylight-saving change can skip or repeat a run. These tools build, test, convert and audit schedules for every common dialect, and show exactly when each one fires.

Where it is used: Used whenever work must happen on a clock: nightly reports, cache refreshes, Kubernetes CronJobs, Spring @Scheduled methods. Dialects disagree, so a schedule that is almost right fails silently.

Cron & scheduling on BackendBench: systemd OnCalendar ⇄ cron (timer schedules both ways, checked); systemd timer generator (timer and service unit files); Cron calendar & .ics (month view and calendar export); Kubernetes CronJob generator (full manifest with time zone and retries); Quartz job generator (jobdetail, trigger and misfire code); ShedLock generator (run a @scheduled job on one node only); Quartz cron (build and test 6-7 field quartz expressions); Spring @Scheduled cron (six-field cron for spring, with code); Kubernetes CronJob (schedules plus a ready manifest); AWS EventBridge cron (six fields with a required year); Jenkins cron (H) (understand h and h/15 triggers); GitHub Actions cron (utc schedules for workflows); Crontab (classic five-field cron); node-cron (node.js schedules with optional seconds); Apache Airflow schedule (cron and presets for dags); Azure Functions NCRONTAB (six-field timer triggers); Google Cloud Scheduler (unix-cron jobs with time zones); Cron converter (translate between all dialects); Crontab auditor (paste a crontab, find the traps); DST collision simulator (see which jobs skip or run twice when clocks change); Cron overlap detector (find jobs that fire in the same second); Local time to UTC cron (write 9 am ist, get the utc cron). Each one is free, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.

Build and test by dialect

One builder per scheduler, each with next runs and the traps of that dialect.

Convert and translate

Move a schedule between dialects, time zones and systemd.

Generate config and code

Manifests, unit files and Java code that run your schedule.

Audit and visualize

Find collisions, daylight-saving surprises and see the month at a glance.
